Matteo Dagasso is an Italian midfielder/attacking midfielder born on 01/04/2004 (22) in Penne. He is 175cm tall and weighs 73kg. He grew up playing football for Pescara’s youth team and then was acquired by Venezia. He mainly plays as a center-right midfielder in a 3-5-2 formation. His natural position is midfielder, but he can also play as an attacking midfielder or playmaker.

From a physical standpoint, Matteo Dagasso is a mesomorph with above-average height and a low center of gravity. He has to work on his build and improve his strength. He is a rangy athlete with great agility, balance, aerobic capacity and coordination. Matteo Dagasso has excellent body control. He also has very good ball progression and step frequency.

Matteo Dagasso is a midfielder/attacking midfielder, and his preferred foot is his left. He uses it to score and to make precise passes to his teammates. Matteo Dagasso also shows great game vision, both in short and long-distance passes. He has an excellent shooting ability (precision and power even from distance) and finishing, alongside elite off-the-ball movement and timing. The player needs to develop in aerial duels. The Italian player has excellent basic technique, first touch and ball control, which allows him to dribble past defenders and become a threat.

During the possession phase, Matteo Dagasso is a versatile profile who operates mainly as a center left/right midfielder. He usually drops deep to build up play and also likes picking up the ball in the half spaces to dribble and try to shoot (especially from distance) or serve teammates through lay-off passes, one-two passes, and assists. The midfielder often tries to dribble past opponents. Moreover, Matteo Dagasso is great off the ball; he often uses his pace to do off-the-ball runs and does effective late runs into the penalty box to exploit his clinical finish. Moreover, during offensive transitions, he immediately looks forward as soon as possession is regained.

During the non-possession phase, Matteo Dagasso quickly presses forward when the ball is lost in the attacking third to stop a counter-attack. He doesn't remain static; he frequently drops into his own half when the team is out of possession to bolster the midfield line. He shows good defensive awareness (he relies on this quality; he efficiently intercepts many passes and anticipates opponents). However, his youth sometimes leads to over-eagerness, leaving him out of position while chasing the ball.

Matteo Dagasso demonstrates a strong and competitive personality: he shows great attitude and work ethic, especially looking at his defensive effort. Moreover, he shows great composure under pressure. He is very confident in his technical means, and he is not afraid to dribble and take risky plays. Despite his age, he demands the ball when his team is struggling. Moreover, his celebrations reveal a powerful bond and an immense passion for the game. His generosity on the pitch occasionally leads him to commit avoidable fouls.

Overall, Matteo Dagasso is a promising prospect with significant room for improvement: he stands out for his technique and offensive qualities, but still needs to mature and work on his defensive positioning, strength, and managing over-eagerness. The Italian player has everything to become a great complete, modern center midfielder.
