Nathan De Cat is a Belgian midfielder/defensive midfielder born on 19/07/2008 (17) in Vilvoorde. He is 192cm tall and weighs 75kg. He grew up playing football for Anderlecht’s youth team, and currently plays for the first team. The player acts mainly as a midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 formation. His natural position is center-midfielder, but he can also play as both an attacking or defensive midfielder.

From a physical standpoint, Nathan De Cat has a well-structured physique, with above-average height and a high center of gravity. He is a rangy athlete with agility, balance, and coordination, but he needs to develop his musculature more (even though he already has good strength). Nathan De Cat has good body control despite his height. The player also has great ball progression and enough speed.

Nathan De Cat is a midfielder; his preferred foot is his right, even if he uses his weak foot with confidence. He uses both feet to score and to make precise passes to his teammates. Nathan De Cat also shows excellent game vision, both in short and long-distance passes. One of his main strengths is his passing and playmaking. He also has an excellent shooting ability (precision and power), especially from distance. The player needs to develop his header (he has the physical and technical skills to do so) and improve his finishing (he can score more goals). The Belgian player has very good basic technique and ball control, which allows him to dribble past defenders and maintain possession.

During the possession phase, Nathan De Cat frequently drops into deeper positions to build up play, favoring cross-field switches, one-touch passing, and through balls. He often tries to switch play to the full-backs and wingers. When he regains possession of the ball, the Belgian midfielder loves to make progressive carries and join the attack to create a numerical advantage. Furthermore, he mixes his play with off-the-ball runs into the penalty area.

During the non-possession phase, he is highly involved. Nathan De Cat has excellent positioning, allowing him to intercept many passes and shots. He defends energetically in midfield and presses hard against opponents (even in the offensive third). He uses both standing and sliding tackles, executing them with power, perfect timing, and coordination. The midfielder is very useful in defending and regaining possession.

From a mental standpoint, Nathan De Cat shows a strong personality: he appears calm and courageous. The midfielder always presses aggressively and is not afraid to dribble or take risks. Moreover, he already has a good technical and physical mastery. The player, despite his young age, directs the team in various game situations, reminds his teammates, and suggests passes.

Regarding the overall evaluation of the player, Nathan De Cat is a promising prospect with significant potential for growth: he excels in defensive skills and technical ability, but still needs to develop further and achieve greater consistency in attack. The Belgian player has all the qualities to become an excellent modern all-around midfielder. A player with a similar profile in today's game is definitely Amadou Onana.
