Warren Pierre Bondo (born 15 September 2003) surprised everyone with his performances at Monza, which led him to become one of the most interesting prospects for AC Milan, who made a bid for his signature during the winter transfer window.
Born in Évry (France), Bondo started playing football at VESC 91. He also played for clubs such as Corbeil-Essonnes, Viry-Châtillon and Brétigny, before being scouted by Nancy, whom he joined in 2018.
In August 2019, Bondo signed his first professional contract with the club, becoming Nancy's youngest player to do so.
In the summer of 2022, Bondo announced his departure from Nancy and joined newly promoted Serie A side Monza on a free transfer, signing a three-year contract in the process. His start in Italy was not an easy one. In fact, in January 2023, Bondo went on a six-month loan to Serie B side Reggina, where he made just three appearances.
Bondo returned to Monza at the end of his loan spell and became more consistent, especially in the first part of the current season, where he was one of the players with more minutes in the team. His good performance led Bondo to join AC Milan on 3 February 2025, signing a contract until 2029.
From a footballing point of view, the French-Congolese player fits the profile of a modern midfielder. Although he usually plays as a defensive midfielder, he is a player who can adapt to different roles in midfield.
Physically, he is an absolutely elite player. He is agile, light and powerful on the ball, but also strong, resilient and hard-working off the ball. He is a specialist in stealing the ball and has a great ability to anticipate.
Tactically he is also an interesting player. His great reading of the game allows him to be very efficient in stealing, his positioning is always adequate and he has great discipline and responsibility in defence.
On the technical side, however, we find the area with the most room for improvement. Although he is an quite wright player in this area, he needs to improve his passing accuracy and his first touches in order to be a valuable asset in the building phase of his team.
On the mental side, lastly, his teamwork, professionalism and self-sacrifice capacity are very valuable features. However, his evolution is to find more determination, focus and leadership, which would take Bondo to the next level.
