Myles Anthony Lewis-Skelly (London, England, 26 September 2006) is making a big impact in his debut season in England's top flight.
At just 18, he is already part of Mikel Arteta's plans in his aim to win the Premier League again.
The young english player is a product of Hale End, the superb Arsenal youth academy. Considered as one of the most talented players of his generation, Myles has always been a regular England international at every youth level. He is currently one of the most important players in the U19 squad, with whom he has recently featured in the U19 European Championship qualifiers.
In terms of his footballing qualities, Skelly can be defined as a player with great mobility. He acts as a real playmaker from different positions on the pitch. Recently, with Arteta, we have seen him starting from the wing, but during his formation as a footballer he has played preferably in midfield roles, which has added a great value and understanding of the game to his football level.
On the technical side, he is a highly skilled player. He has a high passing technique, a great ball control and is a great asset when it comes to bringing the ball out from the back, either through progressive passing or through his powerful and precise carrying with the ball.
On the tactical side, as I said, he has a great ability to organise the game. He is creative, imaginative and has great vision. In addition, his background as a midfielder has given him a great ability to manage and control the pace of the game. He knows when to accelerate the moves, when to pause it... However, there are still some areas for improvement, especially off the ball.
On the physical side, he is a strong, quick and powerful player at short distances. These characteristics allow Myles to play in almost any position, or to adopt a wide variety of roles during the game. He can act as a midfielder in game building - and also in destruction in defensive transitions - or as a winger in attack, looking for dribbling and entering dangerous areas.
Finally, if we talk about the mental aspect, we find a player with great discipline and personality. He is constantly asking for the ball, has a very good composure, seems to be able to handle with pressure very well and is also a very professional player.
