Born the 12th of February 2001, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is a Georgian left-winger who has impressed many teams in Europe, especially Napoli, that has decided to invest in the young talent for the upcoming 2022/23 season.

He played for Rubin Kazan in the Russian top-flight, and the Georgian-born was named the Russian Premier League’s Young Player of the Year, which comes as no surprise as the dazzling-winger was a standout performer, with Kvaratskhelia scoring four goals, getting four assists in 23 games. Because of the Russian-Ukraine crises he moved back to Georgia and played the last 11 matches for Dinamo Batumi in Erovnuli Liga where he scored 8 goals and served 2 assists.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is predominantly a left-winger, the young Georgian is a versatile attacking midfielder who loves to run at defenses with the ball at his feet. On the left, he does so by receiving the ball in space, turning, and proceeding to cut inside to create a chance. He does, however, have a good left foot which sometimes brings him on the outside of a defender even if he has a higher tendency to come inside, onto his preferred foot.

Those stats may not be the most impressive, but his ball skills, ball progression, spatial awareness, and match performances make him an exciting player and one to keep an eye on. Whilst admittedly his attacking output can do with some improvements, with the correct development, it should not be too long before seeing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia getting double figures in goal contribution and seeing him grow inside the Napoli squad next season.

Kvaratskhelia is a skillful player who thrives on dribbling 1v1, making him a very progressive player bringing the ball forward with the ball at his feet. Not too many full-backs fancy defending in 1v1 situations, and Kvaratskhelia can make full-backs uncomfortable during the 90 minutes.

To conclude, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has the ability to be playing in a more competitive and higher standard league, and being now part of Spalletti’s squad and being able to play next season in both Serie A and the Champions League, will be very exciting for the young Georgian. He is undoubtedly a very interesting player, and there is no doubt that in Napoli he has a big chance to shine.
