A new talent from La Masia is gaining momentum to dazzle the world in Barcelona’s first team: Jofre Torrents.
Born in La Selva del Camp, Tarragona, Spain, on 28 January 2007, Torrents joined FC Barcelona’s renowned La Masia academy in 2018 and signed his first professional contract in June 2023. Despite suffering a torn knee ligament in September 2023 that sidelined him for the entire season, he made a resilient comeback to feature regularly for Juvenil A in the 2024/25 campaign before earning promotion to Barça Atlètic.
After a difficult year adjusting at Barcelona’s B team, he eventually established himself as the first-choice option at left-back, providing consistent performances throughout the season. His progress was rewarded with a contract extension in May 2025, tying him to Barcelona until 30 June 2028.
The young catalan talent also featured during Barcelona’s pre-season tour in Asia, where his offensive verve and composure caught the eye of manager Hansi Flick. As a result, on 16 August 2025, Torrents made his official La Liga debut for the first team.
At international level, Torrents has represented Spain across multiple youth categories: U15, U16, U17, and as of 2025, the U19s. He participated in the UEFA European U19 Championship final, where Spain finished as runners-up.
