Dean Huijsen's name is beginning to be heard in the most prestigious debates and environments in the world of football, and he has earned it with his performance on the pitch.
Born in Amsterdam on 14 April 2005, but raised in Spain, especially in the youth academy of Malaga CF, the spanish-dutch centre-back signed for Juventus FC in 2021, after being attracted by big teams such as Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. In his first season, he played with the U-17 team, scoring seven goals from the centre-back position.
After more than half a season in the Juventus Next Gen reserve team, competing in Serie C, he was promoted to the first team in November 2023. In January 2024 he was loaned to AS Roma to complete the season, and last summer he left the Turin club when he was transferred to AFC Bournemouth, with whom he signed for six years and with whom he has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League.
Although he has represented the Netherlands at various youth national team levels (U-16, U-17 and U-18), he received Spanish nationality in 2024 and has already been called up to Spain's U-21 squad, which he is expected to continue representing.
In terms of his qualities as a footballer, he is a player with an imposing physique and an exaggerated maturity for his young age.
Physically, we are talking about a player of almost 2 metres in height (197 cm), and with an agility and speed that is not common for someone of his size. He has a great stride in open spaces and is an elite defender in the box, especially on aerial balls.
On a technical level, he also possesses a very valuable quality, which is that he is practically ambidextrous. This makes him a perfectly adaptable player on the left side of the defence and a great asset in the team's going out with the ball from the back through passing.
