Désiré Doué, born in Angers (France) on 3 June 2005 and of Ivorian descent, has become one of the most exciting players in Ligue 1 this season.
Formed in the Stade Rennes academy, Doué made his first-team debut for the club on 7 August 2022, at the age of just 17. That same year, he also scored his first professional goal (31 August), becoming one of the earliest breakthroughs in the french competition.
Doué is also currently a France youth international and was part of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship 2022 winning team.
If we talk about his qualities as a footballer, we must first highlight his great technical skills. He is a player with great ball handling, very precise in his decisions and aesthetically very attractive. His control and power carrying with the ball and his ability to play in tight spaces stand out.
Tactically, on the other hand, he is a player yet to be developed. His team's system and his role in it give him a lot of freedom, given his ability to accelerate offensive moves. However, he has a lot of room for improvement in his decision making, positioning and reading of the game.
As for the physical aspect, he is a slim and tall player, but at the same time strong and quite a winner in individual duels, so he has great potential in this area.
