Carlos Álvarez has been one of the most awesome discoveries from the start of this season in LaLiga Hypermotion.
The spanish winger, born in Sanlúcar la Mayor, Sevilla, on 6 August 2003, grew up as a footballer in the Sevilla FC youth academy. Considered as one of the brilliant promises of the club, he was one of the most outstanding players at national level during his formative years. As a child, he was proclaimed winner of LaLiga Promises, where he received the Golden Boot and Golden Ball for being the top scorer and best player respectively. With the cadet team, meanwhile, he was proclaimed Andalusia champion and Spain U-16 champion as well.
In 2019, he signed his first contract with Sevilla Atlético, jumping from the cadet category, after a testimonial passage through the youth team, to professional football at just 16 years of age.
That same year he did the pre-season with the first team, being called up for training by Julen Lopetegui, as other managers as Sampaoli did after that. So much so that Jorge Sampaoli also called him up for a Champions League and Copa del Rey matches, a competition in which he ended up making his debut in an official way.
In August 2023 he signed for Levante UD for four seasons. Last season was a big leap in his career, as he established himself as an important player in the Spanish Second Division, scoring 4 goals and 2 assists in a total of 31 appearances. This season, however, he is well on his way to increasing his stats, with 2 goals and 1 assist in just 5 games.
His vision and understanding of the game, together with his great technical quality and ball control, make Carlos Álvarez a highly effective link between the midfield and the forward line. In addition, his accurate in passing, crossing and shooting is a great asset when it comes to play in the final third of the pitch.
The current season will be an ideal showcase to see the development of Carlos in other relevant aspects of the game, such as mentality, leadership, responsibility... Aspects that will determine the maximum level that the offensive midfielder, who has already been part of all the youth categories of the Spanish national team, and whose name is beginning to gain strength in debates of even greater importance, will be able to reach.
