Dynamo Moscow is one of the biggest young talent developers of Russian football. Their effort and work made in U17 and U19 teams has a huge impact in the first squad, as it leads to a great transfer from academy players to professional football or even international movements. Their main emerging attraction is Arsen Zakharyan, a young quality midfielder that has already been linked to top European clubs in the recent transfer windows.
Zakharyan born on the 26/05/2003 is one of the youngest Dynamo Moscow former players to ever compete in professional football, making his debut at just 17 years and 5 days. Since that early debut, he has established and earned a spot in the starting XI of Dynamo Moscow´s first team.
The young Russian player starts as an attacking midfielder, being also able to perform as right or left midfielder in the midfield trio. During many matches he has also been used as right wing, which talks about his versatility to adapt to many positions and playing styles. Zakharyan stands out for being an eccentric and fantasy midfielder, gifted with elevated technique and personality to play the ball.
Adopting the ten or eight role, Zakharyan is a differential player when he gets to receive the ball in the last third, being his great passing and dribbling a great threat, becoming an unpredictable player to defend. He is a combinative player with close ball control, who likes to play commonly short, but has great ability to shift the game with great long range passes. His vision is also remarkable, having already given 6 assists, imagining impossible passing lines to provide 1vs1 situations against the keeper.
Another great attribute of his game, which has helped him to adapt to playing wide, are his outstanding driving runs. Without being an extremely pacy player, he possesses a powerful carry which allows him to easily surpass defenders while advancing forward trying to burst into the rival´s penalty area. When he cuts inside and gets near those advanced areas, he does not hesitate to show his good ball striking ability, averaging each match 1.3 shots.
Off the ball, his spatial awareness is excellent. He is the kind of player that loves to be involved in the game, constantly asking for the ball and finding space between lines with ease. He is also a really mobile player, with high stamina, what allows him to move freely in the pitch, attack spaces and surprise in the last stands of the game with late solo runs from the second line.
Being such a young player, he has room for improvement in some areas. One of his biggest limitations or weaknesses may be related to the defensive phase in terms of intensity. With good physicality and corpulence, he is not successful in ground and aerial duels. That lack of defensive contribution while playing on the midfield may be an aspect to improve to perform in the biggest stages.
Arsen Zakharyan has strongly emerged as the future young diamond of European football. Being already in the list of many clubs, he will surely earn the interest of more in the future, and will give a lot to talk about in the next transfer window.
