Rodrigo Mora is already a reality. The great promise of FC Porto's youth academy has landed in the first team, showing the great potential his game promised in the academy.
Born in Matosinhos, Portugal, on 5 May 2007, he was trained as a player in the academy of Custóias FC and, of course, also in the academy of Porto FC.
He made his professional debut with FC Porto ‘B’ as a late substitute in a Portuguese Second Division match against C. D. Tondela (1-1) in January 2023. At 15 years, 8 months and 10 days, he became the youngest professional debutant in the history of Portuguese football.
This season he has made the leap to the first team and has established himself as a player of great importance in the rotation. He has already accumulated quite a few starts and his level of performance is convincing the Portuguese fans.
Mora is also currently a youth international with the Portuguese national team, with whom he has played up to the U-17 level.
Among his qualities as a player, he is a player still developing physically. He is a small player (168 cm) who needs to progress and work hard to become a more dominant player, especially in the individual duel.
His technical and tactical profile, on the other hand, speaks of an attacking midfielder with the soul of a forward. He is capable of playing in all ¾ midfield positions and is featured by his low gravity centre, his agility, his great carrying with the ball and his ability to turn and play in tight spaces. In addition, his great ball striking makes him a high considerably valuable asset at set pieces.
Mentally, lastly, Mora is an attacking midfielder with an outsized personality. Even at such a young age, he is a very demanding player on the ball, he is not afraid of responsibility and his great self-confidence seems to give him wings when it comes to driving Porto FC offensively in pursuit of their goals.
